I suggest
they try logging out and logging back in.

Re: Flipping Through Twitter

Hey, Daniel, didn't realize you were Disqus founder. People have been complaining about not being able to register for Disqus from here. Not sure what OS, browser, etc. I'm really enjoying the service so far. Now, if you could only extend it to YouTube comments...

Re: Flipping Through Twitter

I sure think so! Yes, there is this Puritan ethic that still gnaws at
us, leading us to feel "wasteful" if we don't read every word. Today,
it's get what you can when you can.

Glad you found my blog. Look forward to getting to know you better.

Re: Flipping Through Twitter

Great NYT analogy.

To carry it further. People who don't get twitter are like those who don't read the paper. They don't subscribe because they don't have time to read the whole thing.

Thanks for following me. From that, I found your blog. Now I'm looking to learn more about TED and other things you seem to know well... all thanks to Twitter.

Re: Flipping Through Twitter

I think the temporary unfollow option would be very helpful. Can't you set up SMS alert in Twitterberry? Check follow profiles and turn SMS notice "on." Works to cell phones.

Re: Flipping Through Twitter

I think that's how we all start, Rob. I found it very interesting to follow others to bring a little serendipity into the mix. It can be overwhelming if you let it and that's why we all need "startegies" like you outlined above. I wish the tools were better for it. For example, I wish twitterberry let me set up a vibration alert for certain people's posts. I wish I could ignore folks temporarily, and i wish i could organize it a little better. i'm surprised the twitter clients are more advanced after this long, but hopefully soon!
